The best-sellers of 3M automotive window films
3M FX Premium — great quality non-metallized window films
It is high quality carbon film for windows. This line of window film products doesn’t have any metal in it, so we won’t have the issue with cell phones and radio transmission. This type of film is dark and matte-finished, so it looks elegant and posh on windows.
It blocks about 40% of the infrared light (the kind that causes warmth) that enters through the windows. It is very effective in blocking heat, creating cool space, and helping to prevent fading to the interior of the car. Also, carbon film will not fade with time.
3M Crystalline — a multi-layer ceramic film with the use of nanotechnology
This series of automotive films represents a technological breakthrough in automotive solar shading solutions. The film uses the same multi-layer nanotechnology as LCD TV panels to enhance image brightness.
The 3M Crystalline Film Series is a unique film, which consists of 224 nanolayers; they reflect or block solar radiation in a specific narrow spectrum while allowing natural white light to pass through. The key difference between Crystalline window films is that the reflection of thermal energy occurs in the “near” infrared spectrum, which accounts for the most intense heat input.
The main benefits of 3M Crystalline window tint:
- Color preservation
- Does not block the phone or the radio
- Sun control: blocks up to 97% of harmful UV rays and reflects solar energy to keep the comfortable temperature inside the car
- Decorative function: The car tint with this film looks amazing!
3M Ceramic IR — strong heat control without metal
Ceramic IR is made for drivers who want real heat rejection, but still want a clean, simple look. It uses ceramic technology, not metal. That means it will not mess with GPS, phones, radio, or 5G signal. It can reject up to 95% infrared heat and up to 66% total solar energy, depending on the shade.
This film is a nice choice for hot sunny days, long drives, and cars that sit outside a lot.
3M Obsidian — dark look, good price
Obsidian is more of a classic tint option. It gives the car that dark, private look without being too flashy.
It uses 3M infused technology, which helps the film keep its color and resist fading better than many basic dyed films. It is also non-metalized, so your devices should still work normally. 3M says Obsidian can reject up to 60% of total solar energy.
3M Color Stable IR — better color, better comfort
Color Stable IR is for people who care about the look of the tint. It is made to stay dark and stable, not turn purple over time.
This film uses IR-rejecting ceramic nanotechnology and patented dye technology. So it gives you a smooth factory-style look, helps with heat, and does not block phones, GPS, satellite radio, or 5G.
It is a good middle option between a basic dark tint and a higher-end heat-blocking film.
3M company — the inventor of the first adhesive tape
Did you know that Scotch tape was invented by Richard Drew, who worked as a laboratory technician for the 3M company in the 1920s? After 100 years of researching and improving the technologies, the company offers window tint among other innovative products.
