Create the perfect atmosphere for special occasions
It is clear that in the case of a limousine, the darker the tint the better. The task of tinting is to ensure invisibility for every single passenger of the car creating a cozy, private atmosphere inside.
Additionally, the film should protect the limo salon from sunlight. This is important both for passengers and for the expensive interior, which fades and deteriorates from UV rays.
Usually limos come out from the plant with already tinted windows, but if it is ruined for some reason we can fix it. This would be a custom job but at Tinting Chicago you can rest assured you will get the limousine window tinting as soon as possible. The time and money you will spend on this service depends on the model of the limo, usually it costs $70-100 for the side window.

Limo — the only vehicle with a legal black out
There are special categories of the tint for the limousine, which are allowed to have an extremely dark window tint with 5% visible light transmission (VLT) for the rear windows and back window. This is called the “limo tint”.
This film blocks out 95% of light and keeps the passengers of the car invisible from outside. Of course, this does not apply to the driver cabin: the front and side windows including the front passenger window must not be tinted much more than a regular car so the drivers of the limo can have normal visibility according to the state laws.
Two main tips for the best window tint for a limousine
- Do not choose cheap automotive window tint for a limousine — you will not be able to save money if you have to change it after a year. The poor quality film will not last long. It will also just look much worse than a higher-quality one.
- Trust the installation of limousine window films for professionals. Why?
In professional shops such as Tinting Chicago, computer-cut technology, and special equipment are used. They help to perfectly fit the film onto the bodywork of your limo.
We thoroughly clean and degrease the glass before installation which is almost impossible to do at home. While tinting we also use special air-releasing equipment which allows the film to be applied without bubbles or wrinkles.
Refresh old tint before wedding and prom season
The time for weddings and proms is not the right time to realize that your limo tint needs to be replaced. People will notice right away if the film is faded, purple, scratched, peeling at the corners, or full of bubbles. Even small flaws feel big on a limousine. They give the entire vehicle an older, cheaper, and less cared for appearance.
A fresh tint job can make your limo look tidy and sharp, perfect for photos, pick-ups, and special occasions. It’s a small thing that people may not mention, but they definitely see.
Signs it may be time to re-tint:
- the film looks purple or brown
- you see bubbles, wrinkles, or peeling edges
- one window does not match the others
- the glass looks hazy in photos
- the limo feels more exposed than it should
If you have a limousine that is used for weddings, prom nights, or busy events, now is a good time to clean and tint it. Take it to Tinting Chicago, and we’ll make your limo ready for the season!
