Sometimes you’re right, but it may not be film.
What is GMC factory tint?
On many GM vehicles, the rear glass can be privacy glass from the factory. That color is in the glass itself. It is not a film laid on top.
So if you want more heat control or a closer match front to back, you still add film.
GMC factory tint percentage
Privacy glass is often close to 20% VLT on the rear doors and rear glass, while front door glass is commonly 70%+ VLT “solar” glass.
That means your “factory” rear windows can look dark, but the front windows can still feel bright and hot.
