It’s recommended to wait for at least 3 days after the tint has been applied until you roll down the window. This will allow the film to properly adhere to the glass.
All the windows of a car can be tinted, but not to the same degree. The laws are different from one state to another, and in the state of Illinois they allow you to tint:
- Windshield — only the top 6 inches
- Front side windows — up to 35% VLT
- Back side windows — up to 35% VLT
- Rear window — up to 35% VLT
One window tinting takes around 20 minutes, but the exact time will depend on the size of the window and the brand of your car. Tinting all the windows of your vehicle would take around 2 hours.
These bubbles may appear during the application process, when water or air remains trapped between the window and the film. If the window was not cleaned properly before the application, the adhesive will not stick well and will leave room for air or water.
So the bubbles can be a sign of a poor application of the film, but they also may appear over time, as the tint starts to break down. In our shop we will make sure to not leave any bubbles or wrinkles behind, and even if that happens after some years, we will change it for free. We offer a lifetime warranty for labor, peeling, bubbling or fading.
Let’s say that for example you live in a state where there is no limit on tinting for the back windows, and you go as dark as possible. If you then travel to another state like Illinois where the limit is 35%, you risk getting pulled over and receiving a ticket. So as long as you don’t travel that much between states, you are safe.
