Ceramic is usually the best option for most cars. A glass roof often requires more than just a dark tint to control heat, and ceramic film is better at keeping the heat out. It reduces heat and UV radiation without making things too dark. Film dye can be used, but for a sunroof or panoramic roof, most people prefer ceramic in the end.
A panoramic roof has more glass and lets in more heat, so a bad installation can cause problems. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. It simply means that the film selection and the installation are more important. We take extra care with panoramic roofs in our shop for that reason.
Cheap film often does. Better film usually lasts much longer and keeps its color. A good install matters too. When the tint is put on the right way and you take care of it, it should stay smooth and look good for years. That is one reason many drivers choose higher-quality film instead of the cheapest option.
It is best to wait 3 to 5 days before you roll down your windows. This gives the film time to dry and stick to the glass the right way. If the weather is cold or cloudy, it may take a little longer. We always tell customers to give it a few extra days if they want to be safe.
Yes, you can. But make sure that you choose the film of the right percentage: 70% VLT or higher. If you have doubts, you can always call us at 773-455-0467 or 312-212-0493 for a 24/7 consultation.
